Senior Mechanical Design Engineer
In partnership with its client CPL is currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer for a permanent position in West Ireland.
Job Summary:
Design and Development and Project Management of Electro Mechanical Medical Devices that meet customer requirements and align with the regulatory requirements of the FDA and other regulatory bodies.
Duties/Responsibilities:
•Responsible for taking product ideas from Concept through to Market launch.
•Responsible for the research, development, characterization, and implementation of mechanical technologies for medical device applications
•Responsible for planning and executing assigned projects in support of development team requests and corporate objectives
•Responsible for documenting and analyzing experiments in order to present data clearly and succinctly to peers and management staff.
•Expertise in engineering development tools using CAD (preferably Pro-E).
•Prototype testing and reporting
•Patent application support
•Design validation
•Vendor selection for manufacturing, tooling and components
•Design documentation support: Detailed drawings, bill of materials, Engineering change notices, product costing, test protocols and test reports
Education/Experience:
•B. Eng or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 7 years product design experience preferably in the medical device or related areas.
•PRO E or equivalent experience
